Learn where and when the first Dave’s Hot Chicken in Columbus will open
Earlier this year, Dave’s Hot Chicken, the popular California-based and Nashville-style chicken chain, announced it would be bringing 13 restaurants to the Columbus area.
And we finally have an official location and some timeline information on its first two Columbus sites.
At 3,000 square feet, one eatery will be located at 3590 W. Dublin-Granville Rd. on the city’s far Northwest Side. It’s likely to open in the first quarter of 2022, according to franchisee Todd Hollman.

The second restaurant will be located at 15 E. 15th Ave., at the intersection of High Street and 15th Avenue. Previously known as 15th and High, the spot is now formally known as University Square. At 2,800 square feet, diners will have to wait until the third quarter of 2022 for this location to open.
Hollman is anticipating the launch of both restaurants, and cited a bustling Columbus market as one of the reasons he and fellow franchisees chose Central Ohio.
“Tyler [Freeland], Matt [Fortney} and I are excited about developing Dave’s Hot Chicken in the Columbus market as it is one of the fastest growing, most vibrant markets in the Midwest,” he said. “We’ve met some great people and have identified some solid potential locations.”
Hollman also said that the group is still in the location selection process for the other 11 Dave’s sites coming to Columbus, and there’s currently no timeline in place for their opening.
