Local Cantina shutters a location; here’s what quickly took its place
“We are passing the torch to new ownership,” said a Local Cantina press release.
While the final day of service for the Gahanna Local Cantina, located at 101 Mill St., was in early November, you’ll still be able to find margaritas and self-serve chips & salsa at the restaurant that took its place.
Cantina Sports Bar and Grill now proudly resides in what was once Local Cantina, and the owner couldn’t be more thrilled to have been handed the torch. In fact, JC Polanco said that George Tanchevski, founder of Local Cantina, is a good friend of his and sold the restaurant to him.

“We’ll have a lot of the same stuff as Local Cantina,” Polanco told 614Now. Cantina Sports Bar and Grill will continue to build on Local Cantina’s legacy, but they’re adding a few additions to the menu, such as burgers and chicken wings, and some extra TVs in the space for more sports viewing.
“Don’t worry – we will still have Taco Tuesday, margaritas, and unlimited chips & salsa,” laughed Polanco.
View Cantina’s website and menu here! They’re in their soft opening phase, but will be fully operating with their new changes and some renovations in about two weeks. Until then, you can visit Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. (kitchen closes at 10 p.m.), and Friday through Saturday, 11am until midnight (with the kitchen closing at 11 p.m.).
