Broad Street pizza place looks to reopen

The family who ran Josie’s Pizza at 952 W. Broad St. have shared plans to bring the pizza joint back.

Josie’s closed in January. But according to a video from Austin, a family member who posted on The Original Josie’s Pizza Facebook page, a new location is in the works.

“Yes, we’ve been on a hiatus for the past seven months, and we’ve [given] little updates, but we’re coming back,” Austin said in the video. “We are, trust me.”

According to the video, the new location will be near the old one, close to the Bottoms and downtown. Austin said the former owner, (and his grandmother) Joyce, is fully retired. But the family is working to renovate a new building.

During the video, Austin showed the new building, which has a sign that reads, “Coming Soon! Josie’s Pizza!” It appears to be located at 894 W. Broad St. While Austin didn’t share an opening date, he said he hopes to see us soon. We tried to reach out to the family via email, but didn’t hear back by press time. If we learn anything new, we’ll update this story.
