Fiery Foods Festival to make a red-hot return

Sarah Sole

Something’s heating up, and this time it’s not the weather.

The Columbus Fiery Foods Festival is back next month, slated for Aug. 28-29 along the Main Street bridge downtown. Columbus-based event firm MGN and CD929FM will host.

“We are just grateful to be doing the festival again, and being a chillihead myself, creating a fun event for all the hot and spicy food lovers in Columbus and around Ohio,” MGN President and event co-founder Mike Gallicchio told us.

According to a release, the event will feature restaurants, hot sauce makers, salsa makers, and a variety of exhibitors from different places across the U.S. There will be savory dishes as well as sweet ones, and the festival will feature artisans and crafters in addition to food trucks and entertainment.

Feeling adventurous? Contests will include Hot Pizza Eating, Hot Wing Eating, and Hot Pepper Eating, and more info is set to be released next month via Facebook.

The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 28 and noon to 7 p.m. Aug. 29. General admission is $10 per person, and children 12 and under are free with a paid adult admission. A $5 general admission ticket presale is underway and runs through Aug. 16 or while supplies last. You can buy tickets via columbusfieryfoods.com or via Eventbrite. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity CD102.5 For the Kids.
