Food Truck Festival to relocate this year

Sarah Sole

For its 10th year, the Food Truck Festival will be held Aug. 21-22 at the Franklin County Fairgrounds instead of at its previous location along the Scioto Mile downtown.

According to a release, Mike Galliccio, who organizes the event with Chas Kaplan, said the relocation was primarily due to permit timing.

“Planning for such a large-scale event like the Columbus Food Truck Festival is a year-round endeavor and the city was holding on event permitting until June due to COVID-19…and we totally understand that,” said Gallicchio in a prepared statement. “Because we work with over 100 small businesses and entrepreneurs, we owe it to them to give them as much time as possible to make business decisions.”

Ticketing is being implemented this year to allow for capacity monitoring. Other new additions will include a covered seating area and a covered acoustic pavilion.

Over 50 gourmet food trucks from Ohio and the midwest are slated for the event, as well as over two dozen artisans and crafters. Two stages will feature live music, including Angela Perley and The Howlin’ Moons, Willie Phoenix, The Winnie Cooper Project, and Anna & The Consequences. More acts will be announced soon.

Tickets for adults are $5 and can be purchased at columbusfoodtruckfest.com.
